Nativity

My mother did beautiful handwork and created many pieces that now adorn her children and grandchildren's homes.  She was also a wonderful quilter and quilted her pieces by hand with such small stitches.  I have never been able to match her stitches.  She was truly a perfectionist in the work of her hands.

This year I have placed her "Nativity" over my mantelpiece.

She actually created this from several patterns.  I've often wondered if she kept track of the hours she spent designing and stitching.  The detail is amazing.

I'm so grateful that I inherited this when she passed away.  It is one of my favorite Nativities that I have displayed around my home.
