What Is It?

Is it a trick or treat bag?
Is it a pillow case?

That is the question posed by my grandchildren
when they opened their surprise gifts this
evening as we all gathered together for dinner.

A few weeks ago I made Halloween pillowcases for
three of my grandchildren to enjoy through the month
of October.  Ty, still being too small for a pillow,
received a little bear in a pumpkin costume to cuddle
and love.

I suppose by the time the "big" night arrives, the
pillow cases will make the perfect "trick or treat"
bag.  One can never have too big of a bag for all
that candy!

Think they were excited to go home and try out
their new pillowcases.  At least that's what they
told Grandma!

Can't believe tomorrow is October 1st with our
temperature at 91F today.  Happy October!

Finished!

Today has been a productive day organizational wise.
Spent a good part of the day after work cleaning out
and organizing a storage area in preparation for winter.
It really looks good and I even made up a spread sheet
listing everything and hung it on the wall.  So now, I
don't have to rummage through everything to find
what I want or need.  It's all there on paper! (and
shelves)

I'm excited to have my Halloween quilt finished...
before October 1st...and ready to hang.  Really like
how it turned out.

Can you pick out the pumpkins and bats quilted
in the border?

Couldn't resist this lively fabric for the back.

Tonight I think I'll relax and do a little stitching
on Kaaren's   FFF, "September Song."

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Yummy Fall Treat!

Fall and anything "pumpkin" go hand in hand for me.
Love anything made with pumpkin. So when I found
this recipe for "Pumpkin Snickerdoodles" on Laura's
blog post 9/24, I knew we had to give it a try.  Today
was the day and they are yummy! This recipe is
definitely a keeper.

Spent the afternoon (in between baking cookies)
working on this:

Hope to have it all bound by tomorrow so I can
hang it  Friday.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A Little Finish

It's hard to believe we're into fall when the temperatures
outside are in the mid 80's.  But, I'm not complaining!
I know it won't last. The leaves on the mountains are
changing and I love seeing the red's beginning to appear.

It does get me excited to finish up fall projects so they
can be enjoyed before it's time for Christmas.  Today
I was able to finish this little "pumpkin" stitchery.

My Halloween quilt is all quilted so I will pick it
up tomorrow and should have the binding done in
a couple of day.

Slowly, but surely I'm making progress, but it is
at the expense of all my other projects.  Come winter
when the days are cold and snowy I'll be able to
spend time working on them.  Just wish I could get
ahead of the changing seasons.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Too Fa-Boo-Lous

To keep my hands busy today so I would not
continually rub my infected eye, worked on this
Halloween pillow.  Pattern and kit came from
Kimberbell Kids.  I actually purchased kit from
the designers at their shop in Logan--- "My Girlfriends
Quilt Shoppe".

Can now cross one more Halloween project off my
list!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Just Browsing!

Was just doing a little blog hopping and while visiting
Janet she posted about a Christmas stitch along.

Patterns are available each Friday for one week and the
first one came out yesterday.  It will be on for two
weeks.  There will be seven designs to stitch.
Check it out:  http://www.sewhappy.me

Moda also has a free "Christmas Presents" quilt
pattern here

Thought I would just share an update on my
young friend, Daniel, who is battling his second
round of Luekemia.
He had his bone marrow transplant on Wednesday
and so far everything is looking  good.  Would
appreciate it if you'd still keep him and his family
in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Look What I Won!

About a week ago I received an email from Tudy
informing me that I had been picked by her hubby
as the winner of her 600th post giveaway.  Wow!
600 posts.  That is so awesome!  I was very excited,
needless to say.

And today this arrived in the afternoon mail:

Four embossed notecards:

Two crocheted flower magnets that have already
found a home on my fridge:

After removing the cards and magnets and
turning over this beautiful fall fabric I discovered
this delightful fall stitichery that I know took some time
doing.  Her stitching is just beautiful!

It was attached to this.....

.....adorable bag. Oh my gosh!  Was I excited!

Everything will certainly be put to good use and
I'm excited to use my new bag.  Can't wait to
show it off at work and to my quilting friends!

Thank you so much Tudy for your generosity
and I look forward to enjoying your next 600 posts!

"A Little Bit of Boo"

Finally all the stitching and pinwheels for my Halloween
quilt are done!  Today I was able to sew the blocks
together and add the rickrack and borders.

If all goes well it should be ready to quilt this
weekend.

"Chemo Friday's" project is done and ready to go.
Each time my friend undergoes chemo for breast
cancer, I try to leave a little something on her
doorstep to brighten her day and let her know I'm
thinking of her.  This will be delivered Friday for
her 2nd to last treatment.

Tonight I hope to start Kaaren's FFF "September
Song" as well as a little pumpkin stitchery.  I'm
hoping to get them done to enjoy this fall.  But,
am wondering if that is realistic!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

They Loved Them!

A few posts back I posted pictures of some notebook
holders I made for this past weekend.

Friday and Saturday my daughter, her friend, and I
traveled to Logan and joined my friend for "Time Out
for Women", a wonderfully uplifting two days of talks,
music and friendship just for women---2,000 to
be exact.

They loved their notebook holders...

...As did everyone around us.

Everything was right at our finger tips--notebook, pen,
daily schedule and admittance tickets.

Getting Started....

Today seems like a good day to get started on fall
decorating.  The day has a feeling of fall to it.  There
is a slight breeze and I can hear the rustling of the leaves
through my open windows and patio door.

Can't believe how long it takes to put all the summer
and patriotic items away, then dig out the fall boxes,
dust, clean, etc.  Am feeling a little frustrated as I
can't find my box with fall garlands and leaves in.
Reorganized everything this spring and thought
the fall stuff was all together....hmmmm!

Anyway, thought I'd share a few pictures.  Mind you
everything is not finished, but I want to add these
pictures to some I am getting developed for a
book I'm doing.

This leaf wall hanging was made over 20 years
ago with my mother and sister.  And although it
is showing its age, there are too many memories
associated with it to part with it.

Here are a few things I've stitched over the years.  You
may recognize this pumpkin stitchery from
http://www.crabapplehillstudio.com

As you can tell, I love to stitch!

These next two came from magazines, but I don't
recall which ones.

And finally this last one was from a class at my
local quilt shop.

Now to find my autumn leaves and garlands to
add and I think I'll be ready for fall.

Just a reminder to check out my giveaway.
Even if you're not in to scrapbooking and have
never given a thought to digital scrapbooking,
you might find it enjoyable.  And the best
thing is that it's FREE!  So why not enter today.
Giveaway ends Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
