almost any treat unless it's one I indulge in late at night and
then it keeps me awake half the night!
It was a "treat" for me to observe my grandchildren paint their
pumpkins Thursday evening and see their creativity at work.
I don't know who had more fun...them painting or us adults
watching. All I know was it was a "treat" to laugh and
giggle with them.
As we finished up the evening each got a special little
Halloween "treat" bag filled with candy and a couple of
toys.
We had so much fun. I love these kinds of treats!
During the day yesterday I decided to "treat" myself to
a new project after cleaning house. Found this Sunbonnet
Sue pattern among my Christmas things and decided to
make her from my 80's fabrics.
Today I will try and get her appliqued and finish the block.
It will be a small wall hanging. Guess it's about time I
did her as the magazine was from 1997.
It seems that from Halloween to Christmas we are
inundated with treats...Ghostly treats left on the door step,
treats shared by friends and neighbors clear up until
Christmas, treats of all kinds shared at work, etc.
Even we find ourselves making our share of treats to
give to others. One of my favorite treats is our
homemade truffles and cherry chocolates. Yum!
Makes my mouth water just thinking about them.
So today's question is..."What is your favorite treat?"
Hope you "treat" yourself to something wonderful
today.

Oh, and before I forget Micki over at"Irish Muses"

You are so right, nothing is more fun...
ReplyDeleteLove your Sun Bonnet Sue..
My favorite treat is chocolate, of course. (grin) I like to make cinnamon rolls and small loaves of pumpkin bread to give away as treats. I don't even have a special recipe for these. I just go online or get the recipe books out and look up a recipe. If it sounds good, I try it. No one has given me back my treats yet. LOL Have a good day. The rain stopped, but the wind is terrible. Winona
ReplyDeleteYour Sunbonnet Sue came out GREAT! Funny, I was looking through some old quilting magazines and came across the exact same pattern! I lingered on that page for quite awhile, before continuing to turn the pages, telling myself that NO, I DON'T need to begin anything new right at this moment. Love the pics of your family preparing for Halloween, Nola. I could almost hear the laughter. It was a 'treat' for me to read your post this evening. ~karen
ReplyDeleteHi Nola!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite treats is finding an e-mail from you in my in-box!!
I also like caramel corn, or just plain popcorn with lots of salt and butter!
Carving pumpkins is such a fan family tradition - I love to watch the faces of my grandkids as they reach in to pull out the insides...no matter what, they always pull a face!
Your Sunbonnet Sue applique is so cute! I can remember my grandmother had a quilt with little girls like that on it - I always loved having it on my bed when I stayed with her. It was made of all of the left over pieces of fabric that she made her dresses from...I loved it!
Your little grandkids are so cute! It looks like everyone had a great time carving pumpkins and eating treats!!
Hugs,
Barb
