Red Skies At Night....

....Sailors delight.  Red Skies in the morning, sailors take warning.  Growing up my Mother always quoted this little saying to us.  Well, I'm not sure this is going to hold true for the next several hours as we are expecting a heavy snowstorm beginning about 3:00 a.m. lasting until about 11:00 a.m.  It's hard to believe that a storm is upon us as temperatures hit the low 50's today...almost shirt sleeve weather!  Not looking forward to dropping back to the low 30's.

Today I was able to do a little sewing while catching up on my wash.  Have now completed week two of the Valentine mystery quilt.

Ten heart blocks finished!  This has been a fun project as the blocks have been quite simple and easy to do.  Just what I need and like!  Can't wait to see what next weeks blocks will be like.  Then the fourth week will be the assembling and finishing of the top.  If I'm lucky, it may just get quilted in time for Valentines.

  1. Hi Nola!

We are expecting that same storm! My husband is the Priest advisor in YM, and we were suppose to take a a bunch of the YM/YW to the temple to do baptisms. Not sure that will happen...:0( It's so hard to reserve a time for it - we only get 2 times a year, so I hope it doesn't fall through. But, on the other hand, I want everyone to be safe.

Your Valentine quilt is so pretty!! I love the different patterns mixed with the floral...so pretty! I really need to start sewing more. My sewing machine quit (after 30 years) and my new one isn't here yet, hopefully it will get here tomorrow if the storm doesn't stop it.

I'm looking forward to warmer weather! Your sunrise photo is just gorgeous!! I love those beautiful colors!

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

    1. Thanks Barb. I hope your YM/YW were able to attend the temple and that the weather didn't keep them home. My sewing machine is ancient also and I just keep praying and hoping it will keep going. I don't know if I could adjust to a new one!

    1. Thanks for visiting. I'm trying to get back to blogging as it has been quite some time since I wrote or posted anything until I participated in the 31 day writing challenge in December. How fun you're from the Salt Lake area. I'm just north in Davis County.
