would teach her how to knit a dish cloth. She wanted
to make one for a friend. Of course, I was delighted!
It isn't often I get the opportunity to work with her as
she is so very talented. Decided I might as well make
one for myself as it has been a long time since I
did any knitting.
Not sure I'm crazy about the pink variegated yarn,
but it was on hand and is now finished. This was a
nice change from all the stitching and quilting I've
been doing lately. Think I'll do a few more as
they work up so quickly.
Completed hand quilting and sewing the binding
on this little piece this afternoon. Added a
few little buttons to give it some variety.
(See previous blog for fabric reference)
Still trying to decide if I should quilt the squares
I skipped. It doesn't lay quite as flat as I like
which I'm sure is due to the batting I used. Will
probably live with it for a few days and if it
continues to "bug" me will add a few more
stitches. If not, will call it good for now. Sorry
the picture doesn't due justice to the colors.

Hi Nola!
ReplyDeleteIt was so good to see your sweet face on my blog! I miss my sweet friends when I get too busy to blog!
Looks like you have been a busy girl! I would love to learn to knit - I crochet, but knitted dish clothes are soooo much better than crocheted dish clothes!
Your stitching and quilting is beautiful - It looks perfect to me!
We have had such a busy summer with baby blessings, baptisms, sleep overs and other things that have kept me away from my computer - my mother says it's because I am in the autumn of my life, and that's when the leaves start falling and you just don't have the energy to rake them up again!! I think she's right!
Loved the story about the sunset - I can tell you miss your mom...hugs to you.
More hugs,
Barb
Nola, your topper came out beautiful!! I didn't do the embroidery on mine and now that I see how much it adds to the finished piece, I'll have to make another!! ~karen
