A New Beginning!

I can’t believe another year is upon us--- a clean slate to write upon.
I look forward to this New Year with anticipation, hope, and joy.

I really don’t make New Year’s Resolutions because I never seem
to keep them and I really dislike having to make returns!

However, I do have a couple of personal ones that
I hope to stick with, actually they are on-going year to year.
But for the most part, I just want to find joy in the journey this
year doing and finding those things that help me become a
happier and better person.  I want to take time to “smell
the roses” and “bloom where I’m planted”.  And, if that means
stepping out of my comfort zone, I’m going to give it a go.  Life
is passing by quickly and I want to make the most of it.

Sound a little selfish?  I hope not because by doing these things I
hope to increase my awareness of those about me, spend more
time playing and enjoying my precious grandchildren, becoming more
aware  of those in need, nurturing friendships, finding and developing
talents (quilting and stitiching).  Hopefully I can set aside my fears
and anxieties and enjoy life’s precious moments.

Yes, I know there will be many bumps along the way, but hopefully
they can be overcome or dealt with and I will stretch and grow
and not let them detract from the good things in life.

Hope your New Year is getting off to a great start

So, with that, I'm off to enjoy this day! (Cleaning, organizing,
all that fun stuff!)

  2. Hi Nola!

I love your New Year goals! Nothing selfish about them at all. I truly believe that when we extend ourselves and step out of our comfort zone, we are blessed in so many other ways! You are a very talented lady with so much to share - I know you are such a blessing in so many people's lives!

I too feel like the need to surround myself with people who lift me up, spiritually, and mentally. Life is too short to be unhappy and disillusioned by those who want to bring you down.

Our families are the most important people in our lives and it's always a wonderful goal to want to spend more time with them, whether it's playing or teaching. And what better teacher than "grandma"?

I pray that you will find many blessings in 2011, that you will be filled with peace, love and joy!

    Warm hugs,
    Barb
