of the fabric pieces I had been cutting and make me a hour
glass table runner or fireplace runner. I still love "blues"
and guess I always will even though that color isn't really
popular right now. Pulled a few and couldn't believe
how fast this little project worked up.
Was really lazy and just "quilted" it using my sewing machine.
Normally I would hand quilt it, but because my arm was
not happy with me from all the yard work I've been
doing decided this would have to do for now. Actually,
it turned out better than I thought and looks lovely on
my fireplace surrounded by a grouping of family pictures.
As I'm typing this I keep looking out my windows and
can't believe how bright the world looks. Today one
of the young women from our church came and washed
my windows to earn money for camp. She did a
wonderful job and they are so shiny and clean! So nice
to get rid of all the dirt and grime from the rainstorms we've
been having lately. I so appreciate clean windows!
And NO RAIN!
Nola

What a beautiful runner - I love blue, I don't decorate by anyone's standards but my own, so I think it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love those days that you can just enjoy the sunshine, especially through clean windows?! I wish our young women would earn money for camp, I could sure use my windows washed!
Next week it is suppose to warm up, so maybe I'll be able to get my garden in and some yard work done - it's strange, but I can't wait to pull weeds!
Have a lovely week-end!
Hugs,
Barb
Oh, Nola, that tablerunner came out fabulous! Makes me want to try that pattern, but I have so many things going right now I can't start something new! (Unless, of course, I start and finish something new!) Funny, I'm not into blues at all, yet it is the one color I have the most of! Rain? That seems to be all it does lately. Have a funderful weekend, karen
ReplyDeleteOkay, Nola, I took the plunge and tried the HourGlass Block. I made 2 (one strip) from a length of fabric that's been kicking around for quite some time. I need a baby quilt, and I had exactly enought to make 30 blocks.....until I noticed the fading that occured on the folds. So then I decided to dig through my box of brightly colored childrens fabric scraps.........you should see the mess on my floor now!!! A good weekend project for me. I did find a little more of the fabric that might be enough to compensate for the faded marks. We'll see, AFTER the weekend scrapbox clean-up. See what you started? ~karen
ReplyDeleteI love your new runner - I am a blue girl too. How nice to have your windows cleaned for you, I think it is worth every cent to have someone else do that job.
ReplyDeleteHi Nola, I'm still working on my hour-glass blocks. Am up to 13 now, my goal is 30. See what you've done? Everything else has taken a back seat to these fun and easy blocks. Thanks for the link. ~karen
