weaving potholders on the loom and wanted to do something
different. He noticed some stitchery I was working on and
asked if he could try that.
While I traced the shape of a Christmas tree on muslin, he
picked out some green embroidery thread. He couldn't wait
to get started and I decided we'd just doing a simple running
stitch for his first attempt.
He had such a good time "stitching" and was so proud
of his tree.
He did not want to make it into anything---just wanted
to hang it on his wall.
I'm so proud of him sticking with it and finishing
it. Maybe we'll stitch a snowman next and make it into
a small pillow---that is if he wants to do more "stitching."
How sweet is that! :0)
ReplyDeleteHi Nola!
ReplyDeleteThat is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen! Please give him some extra hugs for me!
Hugs,

I was 7 when a local neighbor gave me a nice little sewing kit for christmas and then proceeded to teach me stamped cross stitch - I literally have had a needle in my hand ever since! I cross stitched through high school into college - then at 26 got a quilting book when in the mail by mistake - should have been a X stitch one! Been quilting ever since. So here I am 46 and have 20 yrs of quilting experience - all because Aunt Burt gave me my Xmas X stich project that year! My daughter's 1st gr teacher taught all the kids to crochet and knit - boys and girls - so that they would have something to do during winter recess and when they were done with tests - smart huh?!
