Last evening my daughter and family invited me to their
home to join in making their traditional gingerbread
house. It is really fun to just watch the grandchildren
and their creativity as they decorate the house,
people, trees, "fido" and all the little cutout fixtures.
In the picture below they were just getting started
decorating and sampling all the candy, etc.
My daughter keeps it pretty simple for the kids and
they can hardly wait to eat the finished house...me
too! But, that will be for another day!
Be well and stay safe,

What a fun tradition!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is so pretty!! What fun for you. I am visiting in Mass. and one of the families invited us over to help string popcorn and cranberries for the tree. They have 10 (very well behaved and adorable) kids and it was a blast. Seems I'm here for one holiday or another. Last fall I helped them carve pumpkins. At Easter I was here to help decorate eggs. It's what it's all about, huh??
ReplyDeleteWe usually do that on Christmas eve! It's always so much fun! :0)
ReplyDeleteLoved this fun post and pictures. Blessings to you and keep on enjoying those precious Christmas moments.
ReplyDeleteHi Nola!
ReplyDeleteI just love gingerbread houses! I can't think of anything better than - tradition! Last week in Sacrament Meeting, I had to speak about the blessings of FHE, it was a fun topic! My daughter and her husband always make gingerbread houses for FHE as well - my sweet little Emily informed me last week that Caleb (my other little sweetie) ate Joseph! Caleb heard her and very sternly let her know that he did not eat Joseph . . . he ate baby Jesus! You are such a wonderful grandmother! I hope that you are enjoying this Christmas season.
I was just horrified when I heard of the terrible winds you guys had!! I'm so glad that you didn't have any major damage!
Hugs,
Barb
