Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY
February 1, 2010...

Outside my window...
The sun is shining brightly and 
diamonds are bouncing off the snow 
reflecting the kiss of the early morning 
sun.

I am thinking...
That I should dig our my Valentine decorations and
put snowmen away.

I am thankful for...
This beautiful world we live in.


From the kitchen...
All is quiet, breakfast over, dishes done.

I am wearing...
A comfy shirt, levi's and socks


I am remembering:  
The hugs from my grandchildren as we played
together this weekend.


I am creating...
A memories book from written slips of memories
from my sister.

I am going...
Walking in a few minutes.  Temperatures are warming.

I am reading...
Just finishing the last chapters of "Abish, Daughter
of God."

I am hoping...
To complete the last of the quilting on my Valentine
quilt and get it bound today.

I am hearing...
"Crazy Love" by Michael Buble
Love that guy and his music!

Around the house...
I'm noticing windows that need to be washed from
the recent winter storms.  Now if the sun wasn't 
trying to shine through I wouldn't be so aware---
not so!

One of my favorite things...
Is having my kids and grandchildren spend
time with me.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
1.  Try to get started on some spring cleaning
2.  Work on projects
3.  Put photo's in albums
4.  Work on Hailey's book

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
As I headed out for a walk the other morning, I was
drawn to the ponds below my house by the cacophony of
the wild geese and ducks.  Thinking I could quietly cross
the road and observe them, snap a picture or two, I was
sorely disappointed as they took flight from the banks
of the pond and quickly glided onto the water away from
me.  I was amazed at how many different birds were
there swimming in the cold, cold water or sunning 
themselves on the ice.  Such a beautiful site.
