Day 1 Christmas Give Away

Reading with my children from the time they were small was a
special time for us.  Each child had his or her favorite book which
was read over and over and over and if I ever missed a word...
They knew it and corrected me!

Because we enjoyed reading together we began a tradition
which started December 1 and ended December 24.  Each
evening we would eat dinner by candle light and when we were
finished we would  linger around the table and read a Christmas
book or story.  Each year we would buy one or two new books to
add to our collection.  It was a wonderful time for our family.

So, today's question to be eligible for the fabric is:
"What is your favorite Christmas book or story?"

If you are seeing this post for the first time, check yesterday's
blog for rules and pictures of the fabric.

Thanks for joining in and for sharing this with other bloggers.

  3. I'm not sure that I have a favorite book, but I always love Frosty that comes on TV, I don't think you ever get too old for that.

  5. I suppose if I can only pick one Christmas book, I will have to pick The Best Christmas Pagent Ever. I still read it every year, along with quite a few other stories that can't be missed.

  8. Hi Nola!

What a fun giveaway! I am so impressed by the pillowcases you have made - what a wonderful service!

My favorite story was, The Little Match Girl. I loved the story, even though it was almost too sad to read. I loved the moral, which could be taken in so many different ways, but, I always taught my kids that we needed to help others in need, serve each other and then be grateful for the blessings we received from our Heavenly Father.

As always, thank you for your sweet comment on my blog, it always makes me smile to see you there!

    Hugs,
    Barb

  12. What a great tradition! We always read the Christmas story from the picture bible to the kids on CHristmas morning and now do it with our grandchildren.
I remember as a child reading 'the LIttlest Angel'. I don't remember much about it now, will have to see if I can find a copy to refresh my memory of what the lesson is...

  13. Hi Nola, I haven't had time to read blogs much this week. I hope I am not too late to participate. I loved reading 'Twas the Night before Christmas'. I also love 'A Christmas Carol'. The kids and I always looked for the different movie versions of this during the holiday season on tv. We did read the story also, not just watch the movie versions. (grin) Winona
