store I work at is busy with tours from pre-schools and
elementary schools.
The children are given a tour of the bakery, meat
department, dairy, frozen and have an opportunity to
see the inner workings of our grocery store. The
students are always so excited to come and we love
having them. At the end of the tour each receives a
small bag of candy which is probably the highlight
of the tour.
This year was especially exciting for me because my
grandson would be coming with his class. Normally,
the children are not allowed upstairs where all the
offices are located, but an exception was made for
Ian's class.
I made a big sign and taped it to the window in my
office.
The kids were very surprised when they got to
ride the elevator up to the second floor and see
where the break room was and then it was on to
my office where I was anxiously awaiting their
arrival along with my daughter and other grandsons.
They had come to take pictures as my cell phone
died.
Ian was so surprised when he was directed into
my office and saw the big sign as were a few of
the mother's who were helping out. They
wondered why they were allowed upstairs!
The kids loved the sign, but the best part was
looking out the window down on to the floor
and seeing the grocery aisles and all the people.
What a fun time!
Of course, I had to have a picture with my other
grandsons after everyone left.
This brief visit certainly brightened my day!
